Annual Thriftbooks Sales & Promotions

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales

Fill stockings and build up collections with Thriftbooks' annual Black Friday sale. Typically combined with a Cyber Monday sale, the retailer offers discounts across the whole website in categories including books, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and collectibles. In previous Black Friday sales, you could score a coupon code for 20% off and free shipping. Sales typically extend for the whole week following Thanksgiving.

School Sales

The back-to-school season in August and September is a popular time to get discounts. Along with percentage-off discounts, Thriftbooks often has stacked savings sales. For example, if you purchased two to four books, you would get 10% off, but if you purchased five to seven books, the discount increases to 15%.

The Secret Shelf

Look on the main website for a link to their "Secret Shelf." This sale section provides some of the biggest markdowns and lowest prices on used books. Prices start at $2.99. Once you reach the Secret Shelf section, you can select specific book genres like non-fiction or children's books. The Secret Shelf constantly changes, so we recommend checking there often to find the best deals.

Thriftbooks Coupons & Discounts

Get Free Shipping

With just a $15 purchase, you will unlock free shipping for your Thriftbooks order. With the low rates on free shipping, Thriftbooks rarely offers a promo code, but we've seen some free shipping promotions around the holidays.

Refer a Friend Discount

Thriftbooks offers a Tell-a-Friend program known as the ShareBookLove. When you refer a friend to the ReadingRewards program, they will need to sign up and spend $30 on an order. Once they do, you will both receive a free $5 book reward.

Thriftbooks App

The Thriftbooks app makes it easy to browse through books, select genres, and scroll through cover art. This often features exclusive Thriftbooks app discounts and ways to build bonus points through their rewards program. You can find out about seasonal sales, too, via the Thriftbooks app.

Making Returns

Thriftbooks return policy gives you 30 days to return your order. They have set up an Online Returns center where you can select your order and print out a free return label. Once they receive your items, you will get credit back to your account within 48 hours.

Payment Options

The Thriftbooks payment options are major credit and debit cards for purchases. They also accept e-gift cards and digital payments like PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
